Haven't price matched these against anywhere.

Not many good dell laptops under 1k, youll only get an inspiron for that price. Being a dell warranty tech myself you want to stick to the xps, alienware or latitude models if you want a dell.

They are more expensive, however dell has the best warranty options/service out of all the vendors, followed by lenovo and apple. Acer warranty isn't too bad either. These 4 brands offer on site warranty service in alot of places, meaning you don't need to send the laptop anywhere in the event that it fails, the technician comes to your house to fix them.

That said, failure rate of toshiba/hp/asus is pretty good providing you look after them

Key specs for a budget of ~ 1k:

go for a core i7 processor

4gb+ ram. 8gb is very possible in the budget

a big enough hdd to fit all their shit. Try for a 7200rpm hdd if you can find one that has one in it for that budget, may be struggling though. It is an easy part to upgrade later on most models though, so less important than cpu/graphcs card.

1GB+ graphics card

Enough i/o ports to do what you need (usb, hdmi etc)

Does your store have a site yet?

I'd be keen to browse then see what price I can get

Yeh Jb hi-fi site has our stock, will only show normal price unless it's in catalogue though, my store is having special grand opening sake though so may be different specials

No real requirements mate

Just trying to make it a decent-ish laptop for under $1k (the lesser the price the better, without giving up too much quality).

$700ish would do fine. It will probably be used for super low end shit 99% of its life
