Tomy Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 SLOP ROCKS remix of gotye was pretty dope thoThis.hahaha tha bois. but yeah artist going dubstep doesn't include some one fucking over the track with a brutal electro massive preset.also i'd like to take this opportunity to suggest to you that muse have been doing similar stuff to the "dubstep" thing on there new album for years. i'd also like to point out that dubstep has been around since the mid 90's. eggssell Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 well actually dubstep was coined in 2005 or 6 right. But yes the sounds and rhythm of making 2step and garage to a drum n bass beat, was from the late nineties, early noughties. In another fred i posted the bside of a craig david track that has a lot of similarities to dubstep.and that article is bad in that it picked the wrong beatles mix. bonz easily ftw. love it http://soundcloud.com/bonzeecleaven/the-beatles-all-the-lonely Quote
Tomy Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 the term dubstep was created in 2002. still stuff dating way earlier than that. get ready for a history lesson **1983** Quote
Tomy Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 i mean i dont really know a lot about dubstep. but it gets thrown around a bit much as this new thing quite a lot. Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Dubstep these days is post dubstep aka skrillex and friends 02/03 it took off traditional dub was like bassline vs techno with a 2step beat Quote
russell Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 so we're sayin it should be called Nu-Dubstep?Calling Moments In Love early dubstep might be a bit tenuous right enough...... Quote
Tomy Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 it has all the elements, but i think its just a coincidence Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Post dubstep is the correct term if you really want to be specific lol, these days genres are nothing but an inflexible label. I recently changed my cd wallet to ne Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Warm up, main tunes and heavy just did away with genres Quote
JonnyB Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 dubstep came about in the 98/99/00 when people started to merge parts of 2 step with parts of UK garage and a little bit of others.it wasnt coined dubstep untill around 2002ishEveryone seems to beleive that it went from this old chill stuff to this extremely heavy brostep at the hands of people like skrillex. which is wrong.it was actually people like rusko skream and coki who helped start off the heavy scene.these guys were releasing 'heavy' felt tracks around 05/06/07 and it reached a large vast audience, people heard the heavy and it just had a snowball effect.and the heavyer it got the more people liked it, but the less they knew were le dubstep came from. Most people blame skrillex.but its actually rusko's fault, and he hates himself for it hahah (not hates, but he dosent like how far its gone) Quote
legunner Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 but its actually rusko's fault, and he hates himself for it hahah (not hates, but he dosent like how far its gone)I actually watched an interview with him in it and he admitted tht he doesnt like how far its gone Quote

eggssell Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 @ bonz oath mate. your track is the shiz.while im not big on the transformers sound (i first heard that off cupe 2 years ago hehe), your track kills. and when executed well ive grown to love it.but i think dubstep because it crossed over suffered like hip hop does.the non hip hop heads always seem to be either: hip hop sucks balls with all that shit from pitbull, lil wayne, black eyed peas, flo rida etc.ORhip hop aint like it use to be like dre, snoop, pac, biggie, insert anyone else from the 90s (hip hop did not begin in the 90s people!!)when in reality both those groups are just one aspect of hip hop, i.e. the aspect that happened to be commerical. yes pac, & biggie are commercial hip hop!. and commercial does not mean shit or watered down, just that it sells.but hip hop has been around since forever, is still around and will always be around. and its always changing too, for the better if you ask me! the commercial aspect will always go from being on a pedestal, then knowcked down, then kicked in the balls. but the actual sounds will always live and evolve.good music is good music Quote
