eggssell Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 biggity bump but yeah djw looking the goods Quote
Mitch Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 don't live in sydney but from what i've seen of djwarehouse website they seem legit.A couple of jbl's should do the trick for you Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Djw man, nice guys and pretty much best prices the jbl's are sick. Quote
eggssell Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 sweet as. almost thought about sinking cash into some behringers but then thought nah save for the pinball machine anyways cheers boys Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 hehe yeah i am always tossing up whether to buy or not, but really the amount of times i hire i doubt would have cost more than a good set like the jbl's, plus if i blow a hire one (like i have), they generally dont care and dont charge you unless you are a dickhead. When you consider the repairs costs of 100ish for a replacement driver of decent quality if you know how to change it yourself or 2/300 if you dont and take it somewhere it's def the safer bet to hire. eggssell Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 hey coming up now. Anyways was looking at solja boys gig pics and realised theres no monitor? Or is it below the table.Anyways, so what do the other mobile peeps do? Y'all use monitors? Or setup the speaks in a position that you can rely on them?My plan was to use my ghetto as a monitor, but just curious to see what other peeps do Quote
Mitch Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 When I did mobile shit i just had both tracks playing in headphones. Quote
Gandy Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 When I did mobile shit i just had both tracks playing in headphones. Quote
GREMM1S Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Or place one speaker slightly behind you, if you get djw eons they should be more than loud enough even if you have one to the side/behind you. Quote
eggssell Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 cheers allyeah doing just in headphones is a little wierd but maybe ill practice it a bit. Guess there will prob only be maybe fifty fifty transitioning versus just end song/start song. And gremm yeah i thought about that, just was scared if i had to pump it out too loud to fill hall then ill make myself deaf. But yeah will bring the ghetto just in case, but was curious to hear from others Quote
GREMM1S Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 The eons are so loud bro have the one in front of you up full and the one behind lower.Or because they are so loud only have it slighty tiltered or behind you, you will still hear it Quote
eggssell Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 so using trainspotter went thru my collection to select tracks i might play. Ive been keeping a list of artists or albums for the last two weeks when i hear something. Anyways only half way thru my list (leaving all the ones i still need to rip from the cd till later) and ive already selected about two hundred tracks. And ill also bring just under one crate of wax.now realising even if i end up doing four hours i wont play anymore than 100 tracks. Doh!!Oh well at least allowed me to genrify fark load of my tracks Quote
Mitch Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 When making playlists for club I always put close to triple to what I would actually need for how long I was playing. Never know exactly what the crowd will be digging til you get there Quote
eggssell Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 im gonna have the whole hard drive there so ill have all the things. Just never actually put them into bins. Plus also knew of albums i wanted but never actually ripped them. Which takes so much time. I knew i shouldve started doing this over the last month. Its like school all over again haha Quote

djrhysj Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 DJwarehouse is the way to go as GREMMIS said! Ask for Jerry hes an awesome guy.If you're in a hall you'll probably get a fuck load of echo, so I would suggest position both speakers on either side of your table, but push them back a bit so you can hear them a bit better. As for your song selction just prepare as much as you possibly can, as mentioned above, you never know what people are gonna want til you're there!
