djmobile Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Anyone got any tips on what to do if the room is really echoing? I set a PA once in a local hall,( empty..wood floors n high ceilings) did a quick test and the sound was bouncing everywhere. Granted when the room had people in there it would react differently. I didnt DJ that night the band said it was a bit all over the place. Anyone have any technical tips to minimise it when DJing larger halls. Quote
Jaz Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 hard to do in a hall, if the walls arent to large hanging thick bed sheets or doona's on the walls will absorb the sound instead of bouncing it back Quote
djmobile Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Thanks man.. didn't know if a lower speaker placement or some other trick would help.. cheers Quote
Lurk6r Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Make sure the speakers are pointing directly at the back wall or the sound will bounce straight back at you. Quote
legunner Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Holy shit there is djmobile and mobiledj in here wtf Quote
GREMM1S Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Were they on stands? The best you can do is try different heights, directions spacing etc.Try and determine what the roof is made out of if it is flat etc, put your speakers closer together in the center to concentrate sound or sometimes if you spread them out against the side walls you can get lucky, it's trial and error man.Def make sure they aren't on the ground though.
