Anyone got any tips on what to do if the room is really echoing? I set a PA once in a local hall,( empty..wood floors n high ceilings) did a quick test and the sound was bouncing everywhere. Granted when the room had people in there it would react differently. I didnt DJ that night the band said it was a bit all over the place. Anyone have any technical tips to minimise it when DJing larger halls.

hard to do in a hall, if the walls arent to large hanging thick bed sheets or doona's on the walls will absorb the sound instead of bouncing it back

Were they on stands?

The best you can do is try different heights, directions spacing etc.

Try and determine what the roof is made out of if it is flat etc, put your speakers closer together in the center to concentrate sound or sometimes if you spread them out against the side walls you can get lucky, it's trial and error man.

Def make sure they aren't on the ground though.
