The purpose of the griffin splitter is so you use Algoriddim dj on a ipad/iphone/laptop.

It splits the R and L channel, so you can monitor on R and plug L on your Pa system.

You and your friend will only head 1 channel in mono...

It's for iPhone and iPad DJ apps. These devices don't have a separate line out for cuing a track in your headphones. This cable splits your left/right headphone signal and sends one side to your headphones and the other to an amp. Life in mono is pretty boring tho.

Yes that cable that you bought isn't what you want.

You want something like this:

less than 5 bucks at most places.

You could also get a 3.5mm one and then just put a 6.5mm adapter on the end that goes into the mixer, as both your headphones i assume are a 3.5mm plug with an adapter over the top of it
