AlexJ Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Ok, so ive done a quick search and couldnt really find an existing topic that suited my queary. Although if someone knows of the right thread please link me. So basically, i have a gig next week, and the host has messaged me tonight, telling me she wants heaps of songs her and her friends can shuffle too. Now im not a big shuffler myself, so I dont really have a store of shuffle music. Basically im just looking for suggestions from adjf for their favourite shuffle songs so i have some sort of idea about what I should be finding. So anyone who is interested in this sorta thing, please post or hit me up with pm or watever. Embed if possible to make things easier and this a useful thread for anyone who might need this sort of info in the futureMy apologies if i have posted this in the wrong section. Couldnt really decide where it would fit as I said, i dont really know 'shuffle' music. Thanks all Quote
Scottie Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Are they hardstylers? Best of Hardstyle compilations usually have good stuff. Don't forget that they'll get tired of going hard out in less than 2 minutes so it'd be best to have more 130-140 stuff as well Quote
MelodyIlliterate Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 anything lmfao "every day im shuffling" and laterand dude...all the kids shuffle to house/prog/electroanything around the 128 bpm rangeso everything in your library 125 - 134 is shufflableThis is new age shuffling by the wayif they are old school and they're wear the glow in the dark fat pants and all that crazy shit then you might need to go hardstyles... but if they're kids then i promise you its all about th 128 these days... drop a fuck tonne of lmfao in it and those kids will go ape shit! andyman Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Don't play the gig. Shuffling is for fagetshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne_ShuffleI wouldn't worry about getting any hard dance music. They'll all probably be too busy smoking ice to worry about busting hectos spins in their phat pants. Quote
LabRat Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Hardstyle all the way! If they're real shufflers they'll shuffle to anything. I shuffle to drum n bass. Just gotta switch up the style a little and it's sweet Quote
Mitch Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I've had ppl shuffling to dubstep at clubs lul. Play dubstep, bishes love it Quote
dflux4 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Don't play the gig. Shuffling is for fagetsThat hurts andyman!I have been shuffling since I was 18 (now 6 years), you can basically shuffle to anything. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to pace of shuffle, but as people have said depending on the crowd it will be either hardstyle or electro/house.Anything with a solid continuous bassline, and good breaks/uplifting parts to take a breath to work well. Basically throw out a track which you think will work well, see how the crowd reacts and if its what you are looking for follow that trend.BTW LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem was an abomination to shufflers/shuffling Quote
MelodyIlliterate Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 BTW LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem was an abomination to shufflers/shufflingI agree 100% but my money is that they are kids... and kids dont care about that sort of shitmy life savings says that if this chick and her friends are 16- 20 that she wants commercial crap Meaning LMFAO*shudders* Quote
AlexJ Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 ill take the lmfao. but will download some hardstyle to cover my bases. Will play the lmfao and le commercial crap and if someone comes up and says 'play something harder' or 'this isnt shuffle music' you me your life savings Quote
JonnyB Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 personally i hate shuffling haha, in a club anyway. its a thing that take up space, the only type of dancing that should take up space is when a big ass circle pit opens up in a borgore concert. Quote
MelodyIlliterate Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 ill take the lmfao. but will download some hardstyle to cover my bases. Will play the lmfao and le commercial crap and if someone comes up and says 'play something harder' or 'this isnt shuffle music' you me your life savings your on! and if im right are you going to match that? mattus123 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 dont know if its too late to contribute to this threadbut yea, melody will be right, would put money on the girls being 'party rock shufflers'. Maybe a bit of heavy electro to bridge the gap between hardstyle and super commercial.if they say the commercial stuff isnt 'shuffle music' and then u drop hardstyle, that might be too drastic of a change.. maybe find some tracks with a bit of middle ground? SimtEQs Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Don't play the gig. Shuffling is for fagetshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne_ShuffleI wouldn't worry about getting any hard dance music. They'll all probably be too busy smoking ice to worry about busting hectos spins in their phat pants. To classify everyone who listens to Hard Dance as Ice smokers shows how little you know about the dance world. I pretty much only play on the harder edges of dance (not just Hardstyle but anything hard, hard dub, hard house, hard electro, hard techno etc) but I listen to and appreciate all styles as you never know what you will find as inspiration.I have been a shuffler for 4 years and a hard dancer for 14. I have only just joined this forum as a forum should be about helping and sharing knowledge, and having access to a much wider community. I don't believe that it is q place to be slagging any genre or style of dance or to stereotype anyone who does genuinely love that genre.Anything can be shuffled to, shuffle music could be anything so I would be asking the person themselves for a short list of some of their favorite shuffle tracks as that way you can both get an idea of what to look for and the added bonus of being able to drop a few faves of the host. GREMM1S Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 I think the big issue here is that people still shuffle lol.Shuffle music can mean anything man, generally find it dutch or electro or obviously hardstyle, hardcore. Quote
MelodyIlliterate Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 @crundoslol as soon as i saw your name on this thread i automatically assumed you were going to write something about gabber Quote
