GREMM1S Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I see issues if you are swapping between two systems over the night lol, something is gunna fuck up just burn cds for both of you imo.Unless your mate cant dj without sync then he should be teased accordingly Quote
russell Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Unless your mate cant dj without sync I'd like/hope to think that goes without saying.............EDIT; also I don't see why there would be any issues from swapping over to a different system during the night?? Even if you were going from a non-traktor setup to a traktor setup all you gotta do is unplug and plug a couple of cables. Not exactly a hassle. Quote

Even if you were going from a non-traktor setup to a traktor setup all you gotta do is unplug and plug a couple of cables. Not exactly a hassle. The amount of problems that would arise form swap overs in the clubs i used to have to do sound tech at would amaze you, not to mention anything running of a computer is prone to issues every now and then.Like if one plays for a few hours then swaps should be ok, imagine if they were swapping every 15 mins or so lol just go cds guys Quote
russell Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 imagine if they were swapping every 15 mins or so lol just go cds guysyou can have traktor set up an djust run everything through it though even if they are playing B2B and one is using cd's/usb and the other traktor.... Correct me if I'm wrong. i only use traktor with timecode vinyl and you can just switch between that and normal vinyl no hassles. just flick the intput mode on the mixer channel.Surely the same with CD's? dflux4 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Traktor is piss easy to use. It will even make mixing easier for you too since you already know how to mix.Jump on it give it a go and see what you think. Quote

Vaughn Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 100's not sure if srs, You will have to use cd's and so will your mate Quote
AlexJ Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 He obv means 1000s guys Dont trollWe know. Sorry. Quote
CapFive Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 this is always a tough one, i used to say CD's for sure, but you don't have to put your songs on your mates laptop, you can just run them off the usb, traktor is pretty quick at analysing the tracks (this also depends on the usb port as well eg usb 2.0 usb 3.0 etc etc) but i would do both, when dflux came to mine a couple of weeks ago he picked up traktor faster than me, and he was mixing so quick off it, its designed to be a natural progression, and if your mate uses it he will be able to show you pretty quick, but if your worried, just use CD's Quote
russell Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 can you not download a trial version of traktor and give it a try? Quote
CapFive Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 hard if you dont have gear, traktor is designed to not really use a mouse or keyboard, and it is really more of an ADDON to your gear... hard to explain but its not something you can look at unless you have EVERYTHING set up Quote
mattus123 Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 yea guys i meant 1000s. THANKS FUDD! i tihnk the way ill do it, is take a CD wallet of tracks i plan on playingand then commerical/cheese on USB just incase some bishes want requests.my mate has pretty much requested no cheese though which is good, but yea, maybe songs on USB for backupi actually have no idea how traktor works.. i dont even know how u connect it up to CDJ1000sim sure there is a thread on here somewhere where some has explained it Quote
MelodyIlliterate Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Has this happened yet Mattus ? Very interested to see how you go Quote
lloydc Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 traktor is easy as fuck for the basic functions. My advice is to chuck your tracks on USB, copy it to his laptop and create a playlist in itunes with your tracks, so you're not trawling through tons of his shit, trying to find your stuff.secondly, let traktor scan each song in the playlist. Just open traktor and load a song into a deck and it will analyse it straight away. you don't want to have it scanning on the fly when you're at your gig, just incase.how long is your gig? Quote
mattus123 Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 its next week melodylloydc: its only 2 hoursyea i would put the tracks on USB and copy onto his laptop, but like i said i don't want to give him all my tracks for freei think id rather stick to what i know and use CDs..i like using CDs anyway Quote
