Tayownzu Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 title, seems to be heaps out there but what is the best Quote
Mitch Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Mac / Win ?I use XLD (on Mac) for audio ripping from CD's, and it also should convert between file types. It uses the LAME mp3 codec which is good. Best part, it's freeware I'm sure there is a win equivalent Quote
opticon Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 http://www.goldwave.com/It costs $50 or $20 but It can be used for batch processing, uses LAME and you can create custom profiles to convert into mp3's. I've used it for years and it's never let me down.Maybe look into Platinum Notes as well, it might be able to convert from flac and also audio level your collection, remove clipping etc at the same time. russell Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Leave them as FLAC. They sound better. Quote
tubby Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Flac is still 2/3 the size of a cd, so isnt suitable for portability.I use freerip both to rip my cd collection to flac, and then convert the flac to mp3 when I want it on the iphone. Free, simple, fast enough and does all I want . Quote
