1DJ666
Hello fellow DJs, I been playing on Virtual DJ and lovin' it but I wanna get some equipment.I've been looking at a few pieces and I dunno if I should get a bundle or get them piece by piece, plus I'm trying to budget so I'm not broke!Bundle I want: http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/specials/ ... ack-1.htmlIs this a good bundle for me? Hope to hear from you guys!
SolDios
For $990 you can get yourself an s4, second hand ddj-t1, or vci-400 , don't worry about the table and all that.IMO the ergo isn't one of pioneers greatest achievement's, a denon mc3000 would be a better choice if your after a 2 ch controller (What are you planning to get into? Cupe
yea bro with a grand spare you could get a way better setup$80 desk from ikeaand then 900 spare bucks to get something better than thatkeep an eye on the buy and sell section too
Hobberz
Certainly isn't worth it mate. As the other guys mentioned you can get a way better controller setup for a similar price.
mattus123
yea what these guys saiddepending on your budget, id the the controller, then a keyboard stand, then computer speakersif you have old computer speakers lying around the house, u should be able to get a really good setup for not much more than 1k
1DJ666
Thanx for the advice, I mainly want the Ergo because It works with VDJ and I'm really used to it.I originally looked at the Discover DJ but then changed my mind, but last night I was checking out the Traktor S2, but will it work with VDJ?I mainly wanna play for family/friends ATM and do some custom mash-ups.I will check out more, keep sending me info. Mitch
Trust me on this and others will agree man, your better off using traktor or serato itch with a controller. They are a much better program, and you shouldn't have any trouble getting used to them as they as the basics are all the same.
1DJ666
OK, Is there any free trial demos of these other programs?I wanna stick with VDJ for the time being, in my response above which controller is better?Thanx for putting up with a n00b like me. Cupe
there's normally always free trials and demo'sbut you would also need the hardware if you're getting like, traktor or whatever?
Mitch
Serato Itch - http://serato.com/itch(It says you can download but it won't do anything until you have a compatible controller hooked up to your computer)Traktor - http://www.native-instruments.com/#/pro ... ?page=2118Link to demo is in top right - this demo will be fully functional without any controller plugged inCheck those out. Also tbh I'm not really up with the controllers atm, but here is a link to some of the better controllers you can get for your money. (You obviously need to factor in the price of headphones still).https://www.storedj.com.au/products/ALE-XONEDXhttps://www.storedj.com.au/products/NI-KNTRLS4https://www.storedj.com.au/products/DEN-DNMC3000https://www.storedj.com.au/products/DEN-DNMC6000Haven't used any of these personally, but have heard good reports about them.A few on here have the S4 and tend to be very happy with it
1DJ666
I think I might get the Traktor S2, I'm downloading its demo and the controller looks really to use! Then all I need is a laptop and headphones.
SolDios
I think I might get the Traktor S2, I'm downloading its demo and the controller looks really to use! Then all I need is a laptop and headphones. Dude, go with the MC 3000So much better, it even has dedicated faders, 4 deck control and a solid steel chassis. In my opinion, it is the best out of all of these 2 deck controllers coming out.You can even use it with VDJ if you really want.
1DJ666
I mainly wanna play for family/friends ATM and do some custom mash-ups. Very tempting, does the S2 work with VDJ?
SolDios
No, s2 is traktor only.If you ever plan to get into clubs, get cdj's.
Mitch
If you ever plan to get into clubs, get cdj's.Not sure why your saying this man.I've seen people in clubs Dj Vinyl, Vinyl Timecode, CDJs, CDJ Timecode as well controllers (DDJ-S1's and Traktor S4's.They are all accepted formats these days. 1DJ666
OK, I been checking out the Denon MC3000 and it looks pretty cool.As I keep saying I just wanna make custom mash-ups and play for friends/family.Plus there is no clubs where I live, closest thing to 1 is a pub here with a dance floor! SolDios
In that case, controller all the way!But yeh, mc3000 is the best of the smaller controllers IMO.

Narukami
i have a friend who owns the stanton scs 4. it's cheap and it's pretty cool. it has it's own software on it which works almost like any dj software (it has waveforms and such) and you have a little space in the machine to add a friggin hard drive. although i'm not a fan of controllers, i'd say check this one out. costs around $600. (ps, you can use it as contollerhttps://www.storedj.com.au/products/STN-SCS4D
1DJ666
It looks OK but I wanna mix with Traktor and VDJ. Thanx though.
