Setup similar to B52 matrix 1000

Hi everyone,

I'm at the stage where it's time for me to upgrade from 2 x 15' passive speakers to some active ones. I've had my eye on the B52 matrix 1000 system, I like the fact that the sub does the low end work and the satellites push out the mid/high. My only problem is that this system is $1000+ at best. I know it's a long shot, but is there a similar system that is closer to $500? I know I'm better of just going for regular powered speakers with this budget, but I thought it would be worth a try asking. I've had a look on eBay for used things, not much turned up in my searches.

Any help would be great, even recommendations on active speakers that have good bass output.

Thanks for the link, $800 is a bit on the pricey side, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I've been looking at some eBay pairs, are they generally big no-no's?

depends exactly what your looking at.

Personally i would stay away from used pairs, as you don't know if they are stuffed.

And any of the no name brand stuff stay away from.

However you can buy some brand new stuff on ebay from reputable sellers, but you still have to be careful.

My2 cents. Get behringher b212d for $600. Then 15 inch sub for $500 down the track.
