If you are using visual and any form of computer aid, sync, pitch match etc then you are cheating yourself and your audience that expects a skilled artist who has worked hard to achieve his talents.

I understand in terms of an alternative to physical vinyl and also agree with programs like rekordbox which are essentially digital libraries not players if you get my drift.

Its interesting that you mention visual aid.

CDJs offer added visual aid over vinyl (amongst other functions) and eventually became acceptable by most DJ's. You average club patron didn't care when CDJ's replaced turntables and they don't care that laptops are now making an appearance in the DJ booth. I doubt they even give a thought as to whether or not the DJ "worked hard to achieve his talents".

If it sounds good...it is good.

it might be her first time actually playing out and was nervous/didnt want to fuck up/previous person fucked the configuration of the setup/etc etc etc etc

could of been a last minute thing, might not be her tunes and or laptop, its not like its at some high end nightclub/music festival, probably just an instore promotion or having a sale for the clothes and just proving tunes, hell it could of even been "come up and have a spin" while you process your order/waiting in line

point is there could of been nearly unlimited reasons other than "im a chick faking to know how to dj to look cool"
