Jaz Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 What song Changed the way you listen to music forever, the defining song that altered your taste or converted your way of thinking Quote
Jaz Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 For me its Nero's remix of Sincerei had just discovered dubstep and was falling in love with the opening riff of skrillex's Scary monsters Nice sprites but wasnt sure on that dirty dubstep sound yet coming from a love of house...then i heard this soft mystical intro to Sincere with this heavenly female voice singing...fell in love with that...and then the drop came and i creamed my pants...has honestly changed music for me forever ♥ Quote
andyman Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Hearing this through my uncles proper stereo was what changed it for me.Not EDM, but still makes me appreciate the work that goes into making beautiful music. Quote
imadje Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 i've always loved music but during the 80's when I was a teen the whole chart and club scene I could get to was terrible. It was pretty much a "grab a fuck or have a fight" mentality that wasn't me at all. The music they played didnt matter to anyone there. So I spent most of the time looking back to the music of previous generations (pink floyd, hendrix, doors, etc). I was also digging deep into the underground of ska and reggae and listening to the electro from the hip hop scene (kraftwerk, Grandmaster Flash, herbie hancock etc) but there were no clubs I knew of at that age that played that stuff. Then I think I was 16 when I heard this on the late night chart show:and the next night I was out dancing in some very baggy jeans Quote
Cupe Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 there are many different songs in different genres that added a piece of the puzzlebut this song really said things to me. and i was amazed how much Maynard can say without saying many words at all Quote
Addi Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Hearing this through my uncles proper stereo was what changed it for me.Not EDM, but still makes me appreciate the work that goes into making beautiful music.Man I love Jeff Buckley. My old girl use to have his grace album playing heaps when I was a kid, but then I didn't listen to it for about 10 years, rediscovered him about 2-3 years ago and I was the same, really appreciated just how amazing music can be!
