wazza Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 so the arm doesnt get in the way when scratching pretty sureNot for your left side .....that why I do it the same as egg and if your on 1200 or pdx it's to have the stop / start button next to the crossfader Quote
ill_spector Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 i have mine horizontal coz 1200s wont fit battle style on an ikea expedit.otherwise mine would be Quote
eggssell Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 i have mine in standard because i dj, im not a turntablist. so it makes pitch control heaps easier. any wigga wigga i do doesnt call for battle position Quote

My strongest (right hand) is free to manipulate the fader. If I want a drill or intricate scribble I use my right hand on either deck. My left hand is pretty useless on the fader. Quote
Cupe Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 weirdi'm right handed and scratch with right, use left hand on fader Quote
RichoKidd Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Battle Position. I only do this cause it sounds MEAN! Quote
LabRat Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I set mine up normally when mixing. I use to have it set up battle style when I was short in space but I find it stupid set up like that lolBut then again I don't really care. I'll play on anything Quote
OxyKon Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Battle Style all the way for me i gotta bad habit of nocking the needle off Quote

I am exactly the same right hand is dominant on the fader and i usually use the left deck for scratching, but i have much better record control with my right hand aswell, am currently forcing myself to fade with the left, i figure its like footy, you have your dominant foot but can still kick with the other. As for battle formation1. It makes juggling sooooo much easier! back when hip hop started, all they had was the breaks, juggling was essential to keep the break going.2. It looks f@%$ing dope!3. Tone arm is out of the way (especially with straight ones)4. refer to number 2! Quote
