mattus123 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 So after having 2 drink spillages ive finally had enough adn decided to either make something to protect my gear OR get my google on and find some form of protectioni ended up stumbling across this nifty looking productjust wondering if any of you have heard of it and can give an opinion on itif not, this may be worth investing inhttps://www.djcondom.com/ive sent them an email asking about the usability of the equipment and ill post back here when i get a reply Quote
Mitch Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 seems like a half decent idea. But with the faders, jog wheels and jog adjust there is still alot of places where the liquid can get in. Would still help a fair bit though. When i do mobile gigs, i keep everyone back from the table and don't let anybody sit drinks down on the table, and make sure the dancefloor is set up so there is a good few metres between the dancefloor. IMO the best thing is prevention not a cure in this kind of situation, but as you said it isn't hard to turn around for 1 second and something happens.Let us know what the reply is when you hear back mate Quote
OxyKon Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 ive seen something similar to this for the 2000's, although it looked like it was plastic, more like a dust cover or somethingoverall looks like its a good investment mattus Quote
SolDios Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 It's a good idea, but it looks like it's only for 1000's.It could still seep in around the jog wheel.Personally I just don't drink near my gear, put a barrier in front, and make people come up from the side.Works well! Quote
SourceRaver Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Looks like a great idea but:1) How flexible is the rubber? Do you have to push harder to get the buttons down.2) How much does the rubber obscure the display? Its not transparent and might make it harder to the see the display at certain angles or if you have a light pointed at the decks.Maybe Cupe could have a chat with these guys for a ADJF product test first?(why is the Dj in the gallery only using one condom?) Quote
russell Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 (why is the Dj in the gallery only using one condom?)My guess would be that because the CD case is on a stand over the other CDJ no-one is likely to spill drink on the CDJ as they don't sit their drinks under there. There are however a fair few drinks piled around the one with the condom. I'm sure well placed to illustrate the dangers a CDJ can come across. Quote
crundyy Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 How about i just come with you to all your gigs and if anyone gets too close to your decks ill drop them on their head? Quote
