SolDios Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Hey guys ive been thinking, should I just turn on sync for the moment, and get a mix out there? That way I can at least have something for people to listen to, and could posibly score me a few more house partys. So what do you think(Of course I will still learn to beat match) Quote
andyman Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 If its for house parties and other mobile gigs then by all means. Quote
SolDios Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 If its for house parties and other mobile gigs then by all means.Exactly what I though, I wouldn't ever send it to a club, I mean, what if they wanted to hire me for a night and I still couldn't beat match, that would be horrifying. JonnyB Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 dont sync, keep practising that beatmatching brother Quote
Jaz Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I do not want to hear a mix that had auto sync solThis Is how u improve. Look at my mix I just uploaded...there is a few rough transitions but now I can look back and listen to them and see what I was doing wrong Quote
Mitch Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 The main problem with using sync now is that even though you said you'll still learn properly, you probably won't bother to learn it properly once you start using it.Keep practicing brother Quote
Addi Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Don't use sync. I agree with what the others say. I reckon the best way to learn is from mistakes. Record a mix, listen back and be critical when listening. Look at the transitions you could of done better etc. Go back, try again. Better to learn the tough way now, rather then later when you have big gigs. My 2 cents anyway Quote
street Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 just get songs with super long intros and outros, all with the same bpm, and do simple intro/outro mixing. Quote

mattus123 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 im with the othersonce u start using sync itll be too easy to bother with beatmatching and ull enjoy the feeling of mixing beatmatched tracks too much to then go backwards and learn how to beatmatchstick at the beatmatching sol.. itll be worth it when u get therekeep in mind ur still young, theres no need to rush itdo it the right way, even if it means itll take a little bit longer... in the long run you'll be much better off SMILEY FACE! MelodyIlliterate Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I used sync when I first started using virtual dj so I could get my head around the basics. Your way beyond that man Quote
Jaz Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Yeh I did the same melody when I had a controller and VDJ and it was horrible. Wasn't DJing at allTo be honest sol if u recorded a mix and addmited using sync I wouldn't listen, if u recorded a real mix I would Gladly listen Quote
SolDios Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 It's settled then, thanks guys, no sync for me C: Quote
wazza Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I uses sync all the time but I do a lot harder things than just mixing 2 tracks together ...Sync don't work right when using time code vinyl/c.d.....so I say stay away from sync for now sol Quote
