ChevChelios
I am slightly intoxicated, so excuse me if I have read your question poorly But what you need to do is automate the on/off of the effect that you want only on that bit. You'll see a little a little circle in the top left of the effect plug which turns it on and off, just click on it once and it will bring up the automation bar, then just automate it like anything else, turn it on when clip plays and turn it off just before the next piece of audio. mattus123
ohhhhyea i get ya. so technically the effect is still applied to the whole track, but im just turning it off on everything except for the part that i want the effect to be applied to..... why didnt i think of that!!!cheers chev

Tomy
if your using a echo/reverb or delay i would put the sample it in its own channel so your not turning of when the tail of the echo is still going (if thats the case).alternatively automate the effect off right at the start of the next sample.
