gcdj
Hi, I did a gig last night that turned to shit, half way through someone decided to spray a chemical fire hydrant inside right above where i was setup and im pretty sure it fucked my speakers up and on top of that i had the three speakers running off one powerboard with lasers, laptop etc plugged into the same socket, anyways the speakers are 15" powered audioline's. The Horns on them still work perfectly but i dont get any output from the subs. Are the subs blown or is this just a minor problem that i can fix? Lurk6r
No clue, but unless there was a fire, hunt down the person and get them to pay with their money or their life.
Jaz
was the stuff that came out of the fire extinguisher liquid/foam or gas?liquid/foam would be the worst for the speakers obviously as anything wet + electricity is bad.... but if it was gas it could possibly gotten into the amps fans and done something...im not sure dude
SolDios
Might be best to take it to somewhere and get it quoted, also, find the person who did it and send them the bill. What disgusting behaviour.
SourceRaver
No bass on all three speakers? Have you tried another audio source thru them yet as blowing all three bass drivers at the same time seems unlikely. How hard we're you pushing them when it happened? Did it happen suddenly or gradually? Maybe the idiot with the extinguisher caused a peak in the signal to the speakers and pushed the drivers beyond their limits...def not a cheap fix. DJBigKev
Sounds like it might have been a powder - fire extinguisher ? if so you need to clean that stuff up real quick.1. check the in built amp (another reason to have separate amp / speakers)2. Lets hope you had a contract for that party and if so then recover your costs, if not then you've learnt a very valuable lession, Always have a contract for your bookings.3. is your equipment insured?
