philneil
Hi there,I have a DJM-400 and the quality of the mixes I record is not too good.I have the master output 2 connected directly to my computers line in using an rca-3.5mm cable recording with audacity.I'm actually using two cables male rca-female rca and male rca-3.5mm so I guess that could possibly be another reason why the quality is lacking. If my HIFI system which I have master output 1 connected to, had a line out on it would it be better to connect the cable to that and into the line in of my computer so I have an amplified signal?Any ideas?Cheers
Skank
quickest thing i can think of is download sound forge its a awsome digital recorder and that doesnt work id think it may be the sound card because im not sure an amped up sig would make a diference if all its doing is recording give it a shot heres a link for sound forge http://en.utilidades-utiles.com/downloa ... forge.html
tubby
is it truly a line-in or a mic in?both the mixer and the tape out on an amp will beline level sources, and it's unlikely adding a step inthe chain will improve things, unless the problem is your second output from the mixer.then recording from the main out via the amp may be better.sound forge isn't free though, audacity is and it's a very neat package. philneil
It is a true line in.It is a built in 5.1 (I think) sound card on the Asus A8N SLI Premium. The first mix I recorded sounded terrible, that was a few weeks ago and I realized my gains and master output were set too high and the VU's were hitting the red occasionally now I make sure they stay around 0db.Where should the channel and master VU's be at during a mix?I'll try connecting my line in to master output 1 and see if it possibly is the master output 2.Maybe even try getting some new cables.Cheers for your help
