SourceRaver Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Recently decided to go ahead with a project that I've been thinking about for ages (inspired by a street busker with a similar set up but he was using a midi unit and was creating the music live!).Basically its a inexpensive 5.1 surround system mounted in a bin. The music is controlled by a Hercules console with Virtual Dj software. I have since recessed the 'monitor speaker'under the top deck. Quote
SourceRaver Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Trust me...If their was anyway I could have put my TT's in there, I would have! Quote
Buck_Choi Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 kinda delayed.. but.. its sexy. is it powered via a powerpoint..? or do you have a battery or generator.. ? want to make one with some speakers + sub. and all that jazz.. Quote
SourceRaver Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 Hi Buck...Its mains powered but I have seen one (on the net) that had a 12 volt battery and car stereo sytem installed (6X9 speakers on either side). I'm not sure how long it would last especially if you also installed a sub woofer. The lower third of mine is empty so I've always wondered if I could get a battery of some kind to run the bin.The first bin I came across was a guy with a similar set up but with just a midi controller (no computer) on the top deck. He was busking in the city centre and was making some really cool basslines etc on the fly.I think BBV2 will have more powerfull swing out speakers on the side and a downward facing sub with ports arround the bottom of the bin. I'd also like to fit me CDJ400s on the top deck but am yet to figure out how to squeeze in a mixer. Quote
Buck_Choi Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Is it hard to wire up? Wouldn't mind putting one together but with cd/iPod compatibility. How long would a car battery last..?it would be a long while it it was a new battery might look into it Quote
Gandy Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 imagine if you accidently put this bin out instead of your normal rubbish bin youd be shattered Quote
Cupe Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 or a garbo saw it and thought u meant to put it out and walked onto ur lawn to get it Quote
