drewdc90 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Hey I recently got back into djing after a long break (was doing production) and was wondering where i should go to build up a new set. I was looking on beatport and theres some good stuff in the top 100 but i'm sure where else to look for some good stuff. I heard a lot of top 100 played when i was clubbing last but theres some other cool stuff that isn't there, where should i look? Thanks alot yo, Drew. Quote
russell Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 dig deep on beatport. there's a lot more on there than just the top 100. broaden your horizons and look through the genre section of whatever your after. Could spend weeks doing that alone. thne there's other websites like stompy, whatpeopleplay, traxsource, juno etc...you should stick a post in the introduction section with a link to any of your producitons. Let us hear them. Quote
eggssell Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 yeah beatport is good.personally i prefer juno. has a lot more shyte, and sometimes when stuff isnt avail to our market some german, italian or french label is available. Quote
andyman Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Beatport, or Soundcloud are my main ones. There is some great shit out there, you've just gotta look hard Quote
russell Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 There is some great shit out there, you've just gotta look hard And trawl through all the shit shit thats out there. Quote
Mitch Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Find songs you like, search for similar artists. also look at the bottom of beatport it says what other people bought along with that song. It's an endless trail of digging through the Interwebs for tracks. Also there is:-blogs. -SoundcloudEtc Quote
eggssell Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 There is some great shit out there, you've just gotta look hard this. for every say 20 track haul i will go through maybe four times that. of course if i buy a whole release it reduces the percentage, but yeah each shopping sesh usually means listening to about 100 tracks. russell Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 also look at the bottom of beatport it says what other people bought along with that song. You don't wanna just be buying the same as everyone else though. Like you also said... it's a never-ending digging exercise through blogs and other various related sites. not as much fun as visiting a record store. Quote
Mitch Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Yer it's only one of the things I check, coz if you keep following round you are likely following people who have purchased with similar taste. Quote
