anon6ymous1986 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi guys!I've only just started in the mixing game personally (hence posting in the beginners threads haha) I'm only using Virtual DJ at the moment, which I've read is very average for mixing - but I guess I want to master that before spending lots of dollars on mixers etc. I want to experiment with throwing Acapella's onto beats, and mix-matching them for mashups, but I have a few quesaitons:Where would one get good quality Acapella's?Is there a way to increase/decrease the tempo of an acapella without it sounding like they're on helium or - on the other end of the scale, a record with not enough power supply?Cheers! Addi Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hey manhttp://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/If there is an acapella out there, it's on this site.If you want to actually make songs with an acapella on it, probably best to use something like Logic or Ableton, that way you can get it spot on and sounding more professional. Not too familiar with doing it in VDJ while keeping the vocal in key, if there is a master tempo button/option in VDJ use that. That way you can increase/decrease the tempo without it sounding whack! Mitch Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 There will be a keylock button in vdj which keeps the pitch the same while adjusting the tempo Quote

andyman Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 No shame in starting with VDJ mate!I learnt on that, then a MIDI controller, then CDJ's.Now? I'm deckless But as the boys said, there will be a keylock button. Quote
yizzle Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 There will be a keylock button in vdj which keeps the pitch the same while adjusting the tempo^ easiest way and still for me, the best way. Keeping it simple. Quote
