MisterMeaner
I am after some break tracks that have a hip hop and/or funk element to them. These tracks will be used at a venue on a sunday arvo. Would much appreciate the recommendations thankyou!
eggssell
ill hit you up at lunch mayne. i just went on a haul recently. a lot of the newer breaks have got a bit dubsteppy (which isnt unusual as most breaks djs were playing dubstep in sets, that breaks producers would also go the same way).but some artists/ labels to check in the meatimebeat assasinsa-skillzkrafty kutsdeekline & methodin fact all deekline and even his bootleg alias defklinemicky slimaquasky's new album raise the devil has a few choice cuts. it goes from dubstep, to almost dnb, to ragga. all at about 140if you want some cheese look up sue cho and all her collabs, a lot of them are in the breaks realmin terms of labels illevenEleven (or something like that) anyways ill do a good old look at lunch

eggssell
hey sorry bud didnt get around to digging thru my stuff im sure there is plenty. so gonna do some quicky throw ups which will require you to actually digg yourself.on juno call up the other volumes of bombstrikes and booty breaks, some will however likely be too heavy.in terms of funky hip hop, going for ones that have a band always work well. just to name a few:the roots - but some of their stuff is quite deep and darkking farook - though some of their stuff gets quite rocky. off the top of my head, morning is a good trackrenegade funk train - this is what became of half of sound unlimited, oz hip hop OG's. they only had one album but it rocks. a few ballads on there though which may not fit your setkid confucius - but only their first album (they went more funk rock towards the end). i love this album, one of only a handful i can play from woh to go because the type of songs vary so much. havent ripped it out in a minutesome old school stuff which i mentioned above:the native tongues 90's stuff - sample based hip hop. de la soul; jungle brothers; a tribe called quest; leaders of the new school; queen latifah. the solquarians crew early noughties stuff - soul hip hop collective. the roots, erykah baduh, q-tip, common, talib kweli, mos defdig through Jurassic 5's stuff too. oh and Tzuand don't discount just slapping on some james brown!anyways sorry i couldnt dig properly

eggssell
oh yeah while doing my nov charts it made me remember terrace martin.look him up, a producer and rapper in his own right. he use to play session sax for quincy jones and uses it heaps in his productions.and also look up ryan leslie, starts to get more into the rnb and hip pop, but very funky cat.anyways both of these are sticking to the funky hip hop tip, not breaks
