SolDios
Hey guys, traktor has this really annoying habit of not loading songs properly, the waveform doesn't show up and when I push play the needle (the bit that shows you where the song is at) moves, but there's no sound. or when I push play the song unloads when I push play.I've tried re installing it, with no luck anyone got any idea's? imadje
ok sol, this is a big question and there are lots of variables at play so to help us get to the bottom of this please give us as much info as you can:first of all: does your computer meet minimum system requirements for the version of traktor you are using?next: what set up are you using? please list all units, especially: Is this a timecode rig? what soundcard are you using? is it all definitely wired up correctly? are any controllers involved, are you using the laptop keyboard for any control. have you done any midimapping changes? also:have you analysed the whole music library by importing it all to your traktor collection?I can only help if given full info but will be glad to offer what i know mate. imadje
^ good post sol, nice 1.I guess you have checked that the timecode is calibrated properly with the correct input mode and routing by checking the timecode setup area of your preferences pane? If not please be sure this is ok. Also chk you have set your mixer to be a CD output not a Phono output.I guess you also know the timecode CD has three tracks on it. The first is to lead in, the second plays tracks, the third is for browsing. My first idea is to try always playing track 2 on the CD regardless of what song you have loaded into your traktor virtual decks. And each time you load a new song on traktor make sure you have gone back to the beginning of track 2 on the CD player with the timecode in it.Then report back please. SourceRaver
Mp3 quality? There's some software kicking around on the web that will analyze your Mp3s and look for any errors (ie missing/incorrect frame rates etc). Also...Are you actually pulling Mp3s from ITunes or maybe another format like AAC or M4P right protected stuff?
eggssell
Latency is set to the lowest it can gohey sol, never heard of that ill do some looking for you, but in the meantime with this comment did you mean the lowest setting OR the lowest it can go for your system?if the former you may want to consider adjusting. everyone's latency setting is different even with the same laptop, as it will rely on heaps of other things (other programs running, auxiliaries and so on and so on). while ive only ever heard of latency affecting sound quality, so not sure if it will fix this problem, but i suggest you tweak it anyways
SolDios
Still having huge issues, I have absolutely no idea why going to try it on my friends laptop.
eggssell
Did you adjust your latency as suggested
imadje
Have you tried always allowing the CD to play through track 1 (as this is the lead in) and then play track 2 ( as this contains the body of timecode)?
russell
Where are you getting your music from? Is it bought and paid for or do you get some of it from blogs etc? If the latter then maybe the files aren't coded properly so traktor doesnt recognise them the way it should. If you are buying all your tracks then I have no idea why it's doing this. Especially after re-installing and trying the other suggestions.

russell
^there's nay teefs on here glasgae I'm not talking about stealing music. I'm talking about unreleased original material. I've had a few tracks off of people, some from sound cloud too actually, that Traktor just doesn't recognise properly. I've had tracks load with no waveform.. difference to this case is they still played, they didn't unload. Thats's why I asked, might be the same problem but on a worse scale if he plays unreleased stuff, i.e. not bought from beatport, whatpeopleplay or any other reputable digital outlet. SolDios
Ive found the problemI was running 2.0.3Just looked at "What's new in 2.1.1" and saw MULTI CORE SUPPORT /face palmHowever, isn't 2.1.1 bug-tastic? I suppose it's just something I will have to live with.
imadje
hmm, let us know if that does work out for you wont you bro.
SolDios
When I update it doesn't even calibrate the cd's, it can see that it's playing, but it stays grey and says waiting.Might be because I need mk2 timecode cd'sBut if NI think im going to spend another $30 on more cd's when I have already brought there product, they can get stuffed. Il find an "Alternate" method of getting them. I could try back dating and disabling half my cores, il try it in the morning.
imadje
Mate this is getting to be quite a headache isnt it. Unfortunately I only had traktor scrtach pro and a NI8 so my advice may be outdated, nevertheless: If i remember right traktor published the timecode for MK1 as a free download. If you paid for the product and it requires mk2 timecode then you should be able to find the download.Search available downloads in your personal NI service centre? Also if you are getting a problem just calibrating check your ni6 is set to cd not vinyl timecode. And double chk your "master tempo" is off on the cd players and that all the wires are correctly routed.
SolDios
Here you go, a video of my issue, sorry, I didn't realise it records audio too!
eggssell
sol ill look at vid when i get out of the greatwall, but can you write up your schematic or draw it, including a screen dump of your preferences (timecode screen and input/ output screen).if its not calibrating sounds like your sound card not picking up what it wants. could be a simple mixer switch or preference chosen. SolDios
I think ive narrowed it down to the whole (Not mk2 timecode thing)It works before you update.
Mitch
You shouldnt need mk2 time code, it's an optional upgrade
