Hi,

I just turned off my player after a mix, and realised that in the center of the screen of one of my cdj2000s there is a whitish glow (looks like when you push fingers into calculator screen)...

The player works perfectly and you cant even noticing the colour change when the screen is on and a lit.

I am really worrying as I purchased these only recently and look after them so carefully, I am quite sure I have warranty

Let me know if you can help me,

Thanks!

this is gonna sound obvious but make sure you have removed the plactiv film that comes over the screen when they are new as it could be a bubble (sounds obvious but sometimes these film/plastic covers are so hard to notice)

other then that make sure u keep them out of the sun from a window or anything as direct sunlight can damage any screen eventually

Hey,

Thanks a lot, the plastic film had already been removed, I am just looking at it now and the 'area' of 'damage?' has decreased by quite a lot.... Very strange it is defiantly shrinking, could it have been some kind of condensation within the screen?

Thanks!

its scary reading all the issues ppl are having with 2000s (considering the price tag and being industry standard)

hope it works itself out, and if all else fails, warranty thats shit!

mmm condensation sounds a little sketchy dude, i meen if it could get in there it would fuck with other components of the CDJ, cause buttons to fail etc etc

see if you can take a photo of it for us?

considering the price tag

$800 for me, Problem full price payers?

Leave a bag of silica gel on top of the unit whenever you aren't using it and keep one in the box whenever you transport it.

silica gel is the little packet you get with most electronic eqpt when new, it says "do not eat" and/or "silica gel" on it.

It will draw any moisture towards it and absorb it. It may be that the moisture was trapped inside during manufacture and that it wont come out but if you are lucky the unit will have a ventilation point that allows the moisture to leave the unit.

Personal opinion: if it is working fine and you can see the screen no worries. If it is pissing you off use the warranty. Either way it could be a sign of more faults to come so I would def send for warranty repair before the warranty runs out (obv claiming the fault only just appeared if you have left it for months)

if it isnt a condensation issue: fuknose.
