mattus123
I have a feeling that 'stems' is the wrong word, but im pretty sure ive heard the word thrown around a few times nowbasically, i think ive learnt the interface to ableton good enough to start 'trying' to make some music. i figured making a remix would be the easiest place to start.Does anyone know where i can get the stems (if thats what its called)?cheers
eggssell
i could be wrong, but stems are like the individual "tracks' from the song. so bass, kick drum, hi hats, vocals etc all as seperate tracks.and yes this is the ultimate for making a remix.anyways, you can buy them on beatport. a lot of times instrumental and acapella; but even for others each stem. im at work so cant link up beatport but have a shufti around. Jaz
what you want it samples man, stems are what eggs said, and the artist will most likely have to send you themyoutube, sample ableton, and learn how to sample parts of a song for a remix

eggssell
Oh yeah thats where it is on beatport. Under dj tools. Here you will find lots of samples, or sound effects to spice up mixes, but you also find actual stems from releases. A lot of times they will sell the song as a pack. http://www.beatport.com/genre/dj-tools/
