Vaughn Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I am doing an introductory offer of $150 for 4 hours, that's mixer, decks, speakers, strobe lazer and moonflower the $150 pretty much just covers my arse, some people just don't understand the work that goes into it. I love it but some people expect me to do it that cheap that it actually isn't worth it. The 150 goes straight back into upgrading and getting new stuff. When I am DJing in a tavern I charge $50 per hour though !Vaughn Quote
Lurk6r Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yeh, the best gigs are the ones where people hire you to do your thing.I'm not a fan of introductory offers. Every time I talk to a potential client its -> "you get all of it, if you don't want something tell me on the night", and if I'm in a good mood: "My normal rate is $60, but i;l do it mates rates for $200, BUT I get supplied food and grog at my discretion and I do my own thing, your just there to party."If you want to be anal/wedding reception then its no mates rates. If your going to be anal about songs then no mates rates. If your parents own 3 jetsky's NO FUCKING MATES RATES.
