Suby
Hey all, my CDJ2000's jog wheel adjust dial is playing up, I just realised it then whilst practicing, it is turning its self to what I would guess you would call 9 oclock on the dial. even if i twist it to 5 oclock (full hard) it quickly shifts back to 9 oclock... Has anyone else had this problem?? Looks like its time to go back to the service centre
imadje
The 2000 has midi capability doesnt it? Are you using it with software or as a stand alone player? If you are linking to software I would check you get the same problem while just playing CDs. This way you eliminate any midi-mapping conflicts or software issues. If it does appear to be a hardware fault then I've not heard of that one specifically but know of a few lads who have had issues with the jog adjust.Sorry to say all of them required service centre
Suby
I just run them as stand alone players not with any computers or software.. I'll take it in tomorrow and get it looked at. I did buy my decks second hand so I guess these things happen.
imadje
I guess these things happen.aye mate. One thought: whenever I go to a service centre I chat with the guys and see if they can spot anything else requiring a bit of TLC while they've got the hood up. The main expense with servicing is normally opening the unit up so get them to look around while they're in there. Might save you a second trip. Jaz
so the actual knob moves itself back to the fully down position (7 ocklock)?is it the touch brake knob or the release knob? not that it matters
Suby
Yeah it moves its self, its weird... Its the jog wheel adjust, just next to the platter, it lets you adjust how heavy the wheel feels
Suby
fixed! for everyone who owns one of these, it was the metal plate behind the knob had bent down just enough for the spring to loose tension, took them about 5 mins to fix, although I was a little worried when a registered Pioneer service centre tech referred to it as a "pioneer dj machine" haha
Jaz
lol at the "pioneer dj machine"
imadje
+rep for coming back to the thread to tell us how it ended up, nice work suby
anditz
Let us know the cost Suby. If those players aren't under warranty, it sounds like it could be a DIY repair. The jog wheel adjust mechanism couldn't be that complex.
Suby
It cost $40 labour so stuff all which was good! haha always good to contribute some info back as I ask a lot of questions haha
