dflux4 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Went to this on Saturday..... Definitely a must see if your in the Sydney area.Very family friendly and heaps to do. Bring an esky on wheels and fill it up with heaps of piss and it will be a great day. Quote
eggssell Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 yeah i went on sunday. ill post pics sometime this week. absolutely awesome.admittedly for those in melbourne it might be a bit like just walking around on the street, except of course the big installations (especially heaps of contributors from vic, including some of my faves deb; urban cake lady; and the dude that does the lucha-libre-esque paste ups. damn cant remember his name). but for syd people definitely a must.couple of tips, catch the first ferry out OR catch a normal ferry from somewhere else like woolich or greenwich. when i got back to the quay about 3pm the whole terminal was full and the lines went outside the terminal and all the way down.also you need a whole day to appreciate it all.and finally the bar setup is nice, and they were playing some good ol soul & funk tracks (sade; earth, wind & fire; barry white etc.) but the only food was pizza and there was an hour waiting time!. there are other food joints with less wait but still lineupso dflux's tip of esky is a good one. and bring food then camp out near enough to the bar to hear the sweet tunes.im def heading back for one of the secret wars; and the dance comp (shadow wars). eggssell Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 errrrr. anyone in melb able to help me out with that artists name, its driving me nuts. he does pasteups of masks, kind of looks like wrestling masks.some little small ones but some massive ones (6-8 foot tall) around melbourneEDIT: found it, ahhhhhhh.stabs Quote
eggssell Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 here is a few pics. i wont put up too many so people can enjoy in personthe ironlak bus that i think gets redone each dayhere is that stabs dude. Quote
eggssell Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 this was part of some stencil comp. i wanted to buy it but a bit priceythe next two were part of a private collection, and the two artists were prob some of my fave for the day. first one is antony micaleff. spewing cant remember next one i think david choe.these were behind glass so iphone blanded the colour Quote
eggssell Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 only a handful walls with ol school, this was one of my faveshere is a syd based artist sprinkles (more about him in a bit)then there is a whole paste ups section. two artists that ive always liked. one from vic (urban cake lady) and one from syd (though she resides in LA now i think; beibadgirl) Quote
eggssell Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 i posted some new pics in the other outpost threadviewtopic.php?f=50&t=8065&p=113691#p113691 Quote
crundyy Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 i wouldnt mind checking that out but if i saw any of banksys work id cross it out n get into shit lol Quote
eggssell Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 hahaha so i guess you in sir robbo's camp then.i dont mind banksy, he's a witty prick. but yeah all the banksy's on display are just prints or sketch bookers.its only like 0.5% of the thang. in fact you could skip that whole private collection and still have a mad time Quote
crundyy Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I just think hes a homo that tried to write graffiti, couldnt so now he just makes stencil and is a mega mainstream artfag. IMO if you any sort of stret artist you only do it for you and not anyone else, even my mates that still write dont care what i think, i only rock a scratchie every now n then at the pub, clubs or the bus.
