Gandy
i have just purchased fl studio and looking to get into the producing side of things, after i get my head around the software, i was wondering what would be the best place to start, should i work on:1. trying to mimic/recreate a song in FL studio2. making a bootleg3. remixing a song4. making my own original songthis isnt a "step me through how to be a producer" question, its a question of where should i focus all my energy first to help get the basics downcheers, hopefully the fl studio pros can point me in the right direction
Cupe
The first thing I done when I got FL was to load some of the default songs into the player.Check out how they work, mess with them, remove some stuff, add some stuff, chop, change and edit some stuff. It's sort of like using a template I guess - really helped me work out how they made this do that etc
Jaz
i say remix a song, you learn to sample, warp lyrics n cut up sections of that song n shit plus the normal stuff you would making an original track....so its more a learner i think
Mitch
would even creating a mashup be a way to start getting around the software? It would again be easier than a remix i imagine?.But then again i don't have much experience working with DAWs yet, its mostly what i've researched and read myself.. JonnyB
Remix's and recreating someone else's track entirely from your own production. 2 great ways of learning
lloydc
my aim is to make some mashups/bootlegs/edit first up, followed by remixing then worry about my own productions later down the track.i figure this is the best way to do things, and learn the program as well.can't wait to get FL
LabRat
Remix's and recreating someone else's track entirely from your own production. 2 great ways of learningThis. If you have access to remix stems then that's good to learn how to chop and paste samples
