Post any books that you think are worth reading on any topic that has to do with production, engineering, synthesis, and anything else that would fit under these categories.

Ill start off.

I bought the mixing engineer's handbook today, its pretty good from what I've read.

Behind The Glass is a book that I don't have but am planning to get, I've heard good things about it.

Hey all,

I've gathered quite a few books in my studio during the years and these are the ones definitely worth reading:

Sound engineering:

Recording tips for engineers by Tim Crich

Mixing with your mind by Michael Stavrou

Modern recording techniques by Hubert & Runstein

Music business:

Becoming a successful producer / engineer by Bill Gibson

Music Business by Shane Simpson

Other than that, I strongly recommend video tutorials. These are where you'll learn the most.

Dance music Manual - Rick Snoman

http://www.amazon.com/Dance-Music-Manua ... 240521072/

Good book for beginners, covers everything :) When i mean everything i mean everything, its even still good to go back now and read over a few things.

Music theory for computer musicians - Michael Hewitt

http://www.amazon.com/Music-Theory-Computer-Musicians-Book/dp/1598635034/

Name says it all, really easy to read. Much better than other theory books that have NO idea of EDM.

Composition for computer musicians - Michael Hewitt

http://www.amazon.com/Composition-Computer-Musicians-Artistpro-Michael/dp/1598638610/

Lots of really good info in here, more on the creative process than the technical, or theory :)

waves, the trance experience - Torrence Fassbender

http://www.amazon.com/Trance-Experience-Introduction-Electronic-Dance/dp/0974843849

Got it waiting at home, will let you know!

So, what are yours?

time to add some of the books i've read then

mixing-with-your-mind-2.jpg

this book is really great, a bit more focused on recording & bands but some seriously good techniques and info in there I'm constantly referencing this one. I bought the hard copy but you can get a PDF version. Has a really good section on compression ;)
