ummmmmmm, the Autoerotique track is in E Major whereas the Example one is A minor so i don't know how good they'd sound together. try and find and songs in the same key coz it will sound a billion times better.

That shouldn't matter because im only using the vocals of the example track right?

Sorry, ive never done this before.

Or il do it, then il find the vocals of a song with the same key, and then try them both and see how it sounds

the vocals are still gonna be based around A minor though, HOWEVER, the vocalist uses that half-talk/half-sing style a lot in that song so the sense of key isn't really that song, so it could work but i dunno.

I highly doubt you're gonna be able to find an instrumental of that Autoerotique track unless you contact them about it.

ok sol, here's what i do when making a mashup.

First, I work out which acapella I want to use. What I go for is a popular mainstream song that everyone knows the lyrics to that i can mash with an electro track to turn it into a banger.

Once i've chosen my acapella track, I research it and try to find out what key it is in. Depending on the popularity of the track, there may be a wikipedia article on it, which would usually identify the key. If not, just do a bit of hunting around on other sites and forums that might identify the key.

Once the key has been determined I start looking for my instrumental or instrumentals that I want to use. This is where I find beatport handy, as they list the key the track is in along with the tempo and stuff.

For example, lets say the acapella I had was in F Major, i'd now start looking for electro tracks that were also in F Major.

Now i'd start entering searches into google like "Porter Robinson F Major beatport," (Porter Robinson was just an example as he is an artist i like).

So, the first result that comes up is this one: http://www.beatport.com/#track/unison-k ... ix/2706788

Checking it, i see it's in F Major, then i'd take note of the tempo and add to my list of potential instrumental tracks.

I'd then do a few more searches of some of my other favourite artists like:

- "Gigi Barocco F Major beatport"

- "Dirtyloud F Major beatport"

- "Will Bailey F Major beatport"

once i had a few tracks, i'd then open them up in logic, experiment with them all then determine which instrumental works best with the acapella and then start arranging it.
