D4Dirty
Hi Guys,As some of you have read, recent events have forced me to re-evaluate the state of my record label, and the scene and try to find a new model for signing artists, releasing tracks, promoting tracks and selling tracks. As part of this I am in the process of redesigning my labels site, and working on the new process and documenting how it will work. Here is a live demo of my new site (a LOT of things are sill in development, this site is a long way off going live), more importantly here is a document I am working on that will explain how my new system will work. This is a work in progress, I am looking for ideas, comments. In my view record labels as they are will soon be irrelevant, I believe a system like mine will not only ensure survival but will also drive the group to work together and evolve our sound collectively.http://d4dirtyrecords.com/V3/index.php? ... Genetic
it's a good concept, i believe it would work. however i'm sure that some artists would want to work in their own time and by themselves instead of having to communicate so much. Cupe
Lol @ How come a bunch of nerds can run online clans where they have 20-40 people log in at the same time to do virtual raids on virtual villages...When you say 'my sites forum' do you mean ADJF? or are you making your own forum?i'm sure that some artists would want to work in their own time and by themselves instead of having to communicate so much.i reckon that if you're a young up and comer you'll do whatever it takes to get things rolling aye.Might want to be careful about how unpredictable humans are..I'd lock them into contracts so you don't get what you talk about near the end.. people getting dropped because they're not communicating to make room for more new guys. D4Dirty
Good points to think about...Everything in the model will be via a tight contract so there will be no misunderstandings. This is not going to be easy, I want to challenge the guys that I accept into the program. I will drive them to be social, to be open and honest and to deliver original tracks and solid remixes. Having said that, your right that everyone needs their own space. I will not be asking them to be contactable and chatting at every given moment. A couple of forum posts every couple of days would be more then enough.Forum wise, yes there will be an internal D4D forum invisble to the public that will be used for the team to organise releases and remixes. Also for D4D Q&A and general production tips, VST Patches.Having said that, as part of their contracts will be an outward social clause asking them to chat reguarly in other forums, especially those who are partnered with D4D.
