mlyfe
Was playing around with my decks a few days ago and came up with this.Let me know what you guys and girls think.I don't have any mates that dj so can't bounce ideas off them.Track list: 1. Mr G - Deadmau 5 2. Vanishing Point - Deadmau 5 3. Outta my Life (Touch mix) - Deadmau 5 4. Turning Point - Deadmau 5 5. A City in Florida - Deadmau 5 6. Animal Rights - Deadmau 5 http://soundcloud.com/m-lyfe/friday-pump-up-set
awesome88
hey mate, I only listened to this at work on crappy laptop speakers pretty low, but the mixing seemed alright. The only thing I would say is try a bit more variety in your mix other than just Deadmau5. I understand this is probably your first mix though, so all good. Also, I probably would have mixed the songs closer together so you don't have too long of just the bass beat inbetween the outro and intro of the next song. This comes with experience though, and getting the next song ready and beat matched earlier.Anyway from what I could hear, you are on the right track, keep doing what you are doing and practice practice pactice. It all falls into place.
lloydc
here are my thoughts:1. too much deadmau52. the first two songs went for too long (not including mr g)... It's a good idea to make your first two songs relatively short, you'll keep peoples attention that way. This isn't a golden rule, but something to think about.3. your transitions were too long... seems you were mixing outro>intro? try mixing in a bit earlier, and if you don't know about phrasing, have a read around the net. It will help you a lot in this regard4.mix into city in florida seemed a little out of sync?5. the mix didn't seem to have much flow... I would have put animal rights in earlier as well (thats just me though)other than that, I liked what I heard.if you have any questions about any of the stuff awesome88 or myself has mentioned, post a reply or what ever and we'll be happy to help you out.
