SyKeD Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Hey I've been trying to setup an online broadcast on ustream but i can't seem to get crystal clear quality like the majority who broadcastI'm using a laptop, with a RCA to head phone jack to the mic in and to the "Record" on the DJM 350tuned the mic option turned it down i'm broadcasting with Adobe Live Encoder 3.2 at 96kbps crap quality and even when i use 224kbpsdoesn't seem like its any different and eventually drops after abit and then reconnect... I'm located in Sydney ( Hornsby Area ) so if any one could swing by and give me a hand it would be much appreciated!.CheersChris. Quote
Mitch Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Don't use the mic in on the computer, not down with exact numbers but it amplifies the sound, however the record out from the mixer is already amplified, which will lead to distortion. You need to use a 'line in' input on the computer. If your computer only has mic in, you can probably pick up a cheap external sound card that will do the trick Quote
SyKeD Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 I forgot to mention that I have an traktor audio 6 Quote
SyKeD Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Can i get any more info on this please? Quote
Mitch Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Did you see if you had a line in on the computer? you won't even need the traktor card if you do, and is less to set up Quote
SyKeD Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 I'm using windows 7 and when i go to recording devices it has Microphone & Stereo mix does that help? haha Quote
Mitch Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 umm doesn't really tell us a heap. in the back of the computer there is sometimes a separate line input from the mic input. Or it switches between them. But if you don't know it might be easier to explain how to do it using the traktor card.http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... ?page=1963According to here it says "Mixer output connected to front input of TRAKTOR AUDIO 6 for recording into your laptop."I don't own one of these so I don't know alot more than that, but i imagine if you connect the record out from mixer into the front input of traktor. Are you using traktor timecodes to control your decks? if so you can just use internal recording in traktor. Otherwise you can use audacity and select the traktor card in preferences and see how that goes Quote
SyKeD Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 After fiddling around with it all, i didn't end up getting it to work, then got tied up with family commitments i haven't been near my sets for a whileI've decided to setup my Bcd3000 with my CDJ350's and broadcast with Virtual DJ via Listen2myradioBoth CDJs & Bcd3000 work perfectly with Virtual DJ.Now my problem is... When i click broadcast the server works but there's no sound coming out of itand when there has been sound its very distorted and bassy. My config on Virtual DJ isAdvance Config:Master - BCD3000 ASIO 1&2Deck 1 - BCD3000 ASIO 1&2Deck 2- BCD3000 ASIO 3&4Headphones -BCD3000 ASIO - 3&4Recordloopback - BCD3000 ASIOEven when i change deck 1 & 2 to Pioneer ASIO nothing changes. Now the Bcd3000 only has 6 RCA ports x2 Master out. x4 Line inSo there's no way i can really put another set of RCA to Headphone jack to the computerBut when i use the bcd3000 by its self it works. Plug power in - Usb into computer - broadcast and away we goI can't figure out why it won't do that if I've just added x2 cdjs??.. Quote
Mitch Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Is the listen2myradio a shout cast server? If so ditch the bcd, and download a shout cast client. two are:Win - buttMac - nice castI Can help you with config if needed Quote
SyKeD Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 Hey mitch, ahhh yes it is..I've started doing your tutorial yesterday but didnt get time to finish as i had to go back to workbut i'll be finishing it today!... i hope it works cause i'd love to do a live mix tonight loli'll let you know if its finished today and if i got any problems Quote
SyKeD Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 No go with both things i triedBCD3000 by its self and followed your tutorial on using BUTT and icecast.. will attempt it again tomorrow Quote
Mitch Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 You don't need to use icecast if you have a shoot cast server set up. Need to make another tutorial for if you have server. In butt where you put the icecast details, change connection type to shoutcast, and put in the details they give you for the server. Then give that a crack. It's difficult to explain by text on my phone lol Quote
