callmeyo
Hey y'all,i've been recording a few mixes lately and it tends to record a little tinny or the sound is quite soft?I have a DJM 700 mixer and use Serato SL3, i use a macbook.Cant workout what the hell is going on???I've tried to re-record it with the mixer full ball but it still doesn't sound that much better. All my knobs are on a general level. Cant work it out - is there somewhere in Serato i can turn it up?WHen i play through speakers the bass is perfect and sound nice and loud so I'm totally confused.Any Serato'ers would love your help. Thanks!Yo
imadje
It's possible that you are actually putting too much volume out of the mixer and that serato has an internal limiter which is taking the edge off.I use itch and it does this. You can check your serato settings, experiment with things like autogain and headroom but if still not sure I guess Wazza or Lloydc will be along soon to share some knowledge... wazza
Are you sending the REC output from the mixer or the Booth output from the mixer back to the 3rd in-put on the sl3 box...and using serato to REC your mix..?????in serato selected the 3rd input in serato RECORD BOX as your channel that you would like to REC too & then there is a REC level knob that you can turn up to get all green in the REC metre level...do not clip into the red or the serato internal limiter will cut in
