JonnyB Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 hey guys. i just got booked for a decent gig, but they want me to play a live set using traktor, ive never used traktor, opened it up or thought of using it, can someone/anyone give me an idea of what a live set using traktor would consist of? is it hard?also is it possible to borrow anyone's copy of traktor (weather it be a friend or someone from here, i just want to know if its possible to borrow someone else's traktor to learn)thanks in advance Quote
fackedd Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 lolwut? you got booked for a gig and they are forcing you to use traktor?ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, anyway. MIGHT be able to hire it from djwarehouse (i'm sure there's tons of other hire places in syd though that im not aware of) Not sure if many of those places do DVS hire though. So why do you have to use traktor? sounds fucking dumb. fackedd Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 sounds pretty pathetic that they want you to look "cool" though man.cdj 1000's/900/2000's and a djm 800 looks "pro" enough imo.Track selection, mixing, presence and emotion is wayyyyyyyyyy more important. Quote
SolDios Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 So they're forcing you to use vinyl, seems wrongtraktor is pretty straight forward to use though, e.g. drag and drop songs and all of that fuss. Quote
SolDios Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 My mistake, I still don't see why there making you.Id just stick to your normal stuff if I was you, stay with what you know rather than risking potentially destroying your mix. Especially if you haven't used it before. Quote
Mitch Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Sol, if you read they said he doesn't have to use traktor anymore, so jobs right Quote
SolDios Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Sounds like it's going to be an amazing night though, im jealous! Quote

I believe it goes quiet for 30 seconds every 5 minutes, but otherwise it has all the features as the full version. Quote
