Mixer problem?

I bought a djm3000 off ebay, the seller had 100% feedback and the sale description stated the mixer was fully functional and had just been serviced.

Anyway, I don't know much about mixers so before I accuse him of being a liar I just wanted to ask you guys / tell you guys the problem.

When I have my mixer connected to the decks channel 1 and 2, Channel 2 plays perfectly out of both speakers , however channel 1 only plays out of the left speaker. It can't be dodgy rca cables because I tried a different set of rcas, then tried it in channel 2 an 3 (which both play out of both speakers exactly how it should).

Am I doing something wrong or is my mixer dodgy?

Thanks

sounds wrong to me.

Double check everything is wired up.

Check channel 4

Check all effects are off

Try channel 1 with the master out in mono and stereo.

Try Channel 1 alternative line in ( there is a little micro switch which alternated between line and phono level for the other RCA pair at the back)

If you still have same fault you have ruled out everything else (even very obscure things) so I guess fault on Channel 1 output.

It sounds like channel 1 had a busted right Rca connection dude, put the red RCA into the white connection and vise versa and if the right speaker still doesn't play then there is something wrong with the right RCA output connector...

I've had this happen on a mixer, wasn't to much to get it fixed, but that was on my master channel

Hey guys, thanks so far for ur help, I just got home and saw them so I havent tried yet, however just an update it does the same for channel 3 too.

So ultimately, im playing out of channel 2 and 4, red rca in red output, white in white etc....and channel 2 and 4 work fine, left n right speaker, cross fader, effects etc..but channel 1 and 3 only play out of 1 speaker...

Try this as well...

On a DJM3000, you can plug two devices into the first channel simultaneaously. There is a small switch on the rear of the mixer that lets you chose if you are using a turntable or line level device on the phono inputs. Try using the phono/line level inputs (switch moved to line) and tell us what happens.
