Suby Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 So I finally landed a set at one of our local bars down here this Friday, its going to be a try out for some further work over the summer and its quite early (9-10pm) They want a bit more of a cruisy set and I actually dont have that much stuff for earlier on in the night, was wondering if anyone knows some good tracks I could run with? Ive got a few, but I want to get a few more in the library before Friday ha so yeah thats it, finally going to get a chance, hope I dont fuck up! haha Quote
Jaz Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 what sort of bar is it? what genre or type of music they want? real commercial stuff? give us an example Quote
Suby Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 I have been there a bit, they play house, electro, progressive etc... it varies a little, sometimes its more commercial other times its stuff I dont think many of the ppl there have heard before but they still go off too it. I talked to the guy a little more, i think half the set will be more chilled out as its quite early then the second half I will play some stuff that I really like, I need to show them what I like to play as its a try out, and the DJ playing after me is pretty good, its Holly J, I dont know if many of you have heard of her. What do you guys think? Thanks Jaz, I am stoked! I just want to nail it ha Quote
Jaz Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 It sounds like you got it good dude, so many DJ's would kill to be able to play what they want at their clubit sounds like you just need to practise alot before it with the stuff you like and your set man Quote
SolDios Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 If your looking at cruse chill out tracks, check out the album "behind the sun - chicane" Quote

Sol got great taste!!Get the Jaytech podcast off I-tunes and have a listen. The tracks are listed in the lyrics section of the info popup. All the tracks are currently being sold on Beatport and its all progressive house. Laid back and cruisy but with a decent tempo. Quote
pundaddy Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Disco always goes down a treat for earlier sets, try out some indie dance, and some commercial aswell, it's your job to initially get people onto the dance floor. Quote
