jbeard
Hi All,I am trying to decide whether to get a Novation Xio, a Alesis Micron or a Microkorg...I want a synth that I can double as a MIDI. Does anyone have any of these? What are your opinions? Thanks,John
ChevChelios
Alesis Microns are rad, Microkorgs are similarly rad. Neve had any experience with the Xio.I'd go Micron
jbeard
I was looking at the Micron, the only thing that puts me off is that it has less knobs and such on it. Does that annoy you?
LabRat
I don't own a microkorg but have used one. It's pretty sweet but there's some other "mini" Korg synths around that you should look into. The R3 is a pretty good synth too
Tomy
Mirco korg is good i own one. Love it. half decent sound and you can get a program to patch on rather than doing it on the synth itself which is 1000 times easier. Pro's Plenty of soundssounds alrightvocoder Pretty easy to useEditor progarm available for PC not sure about maccon'snot pure analogno USBsmall as fuck keys which really shits me off. jbeard
No usb? So can it be used as a MIDI as well? I take it you can go MIDI out to USB into your computer?
Tomy
you will just need a interface. most audio interfaces have midi in / out puts. you just connect it via that.

ChevChelios
I was looking at the Micron, the only thing that puts me off is that it has less knobs and such on it. Does that annoy you?I've never used it as a MIDI controller as I don't actually own it. Tbh, I've never used MIDI controller knobs on a vst, theres so much effort in mapping it and in the end still doesn't feel the same and isn't as fun as using real gear. If you want a MIDI controller with lotsa knobs, then get a MIDI controller with lotsa knobs, not a synth with MIDI capabilities, cause there aren't many that do both well.
