tubby
one of my tt's took a tumble off a table. the only problem is that one of the rca plugs is now loose, the problem is in the plug that goes into the mixer. Anyone every try to re-solder the RCA plug to the cable? Should I take it to any old electronics store or just get the whole cable replaced, which means opening up the tt. Genetic
not having a plug in front of me it's hard to say, some plugs unscrew and you can get to the wires, some pull off, and some are molded and you can't do anything with but from what i've read it's not hard to pull apart a tt and if it came down to it you could easily replace the cables
DjDennis
if its a premade rca plug then just go buy some new onesif its the rca on the TT it's self ?then the TT needs looking at
johnyboy
I would get some good quality cable and some rca ands and do it yourself if you can use a soldering iron its easy check youtube im sure theres a video showing how to do it
dim
I've replaced the RCA at the end of a technics audio out loads of times.Buy a replacement connector, snip the cable, solder carefully. It's not hard but you'll need a patient/steady hand so if you arent used to soldering maybe practice on some spare cables. The connectors should be less than $1 so it's worth having a practise coz if you mess it up you'll have to snip the cable shorter and start again.BUt IMO: If it's an internal problem I would not attempt myself. I would get registered service for the whole unit. If it's got to be opened up you may as well get it done properly and have everything checked while the hood is up. Apart from being able to go back to the service engineer if there are still issues you also have a better chance of selling in the future if you keep the receipt for the service.
