AUSTRALIAN DJ FORUMS

Hey guys,

I have been DJing around for another Mobile DJ company for a while and have finally decided to fly solo, and am trying to get myself established, that is, aiming to work for myself, like most people on this forum I would assume.

Anyway, I am wondering if any professional Mobile DJs out there might give me a few pointers for publicising myself? I already have myself a website, am trying to SEO it, but that takes some time. Any other avenues, tricks and tips?

Cheers

Hey mate, welcome to the forum.

Please go in and introduce yourself. viewforum.php?f=5 :D

First and foremost mate, Social Network sites. Facebook, twitter, google+ etc, these site will get you the most exposure and the best thing is its free advertisement.

Record some demo cd's, burn a lot of copies and hand out to work mates, friends family etc. Someone you don't know my be in your friends car whilst he is playing your mix cd, all of a sudden you have his attention and he will beginning to tell his friends and so on.

Also post your mixes up on your website and social networking sites. You could also print up some flyers and put them on local notice boards.

Good Luck

mate is all about networking and being social net presence is a big part of it but its nothing compared to a business card in your wallet from a recomended dj

1. throw a awesome party

2. be approachable

3. ........

4. PROFIT

I just got a gig off a lady who saw me at another party and she said that shes sick of dj's not calling her back.

So if you know how to rock a party and present yourself in a professional manner, than its only a matter of time.

Business cards! Hand them out to mates, word of mouth is better then any advertising money can buy. Take em to your local deli/lunch bar. They usually are pretty cool for you to leave a pile on the counter
