imadje Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 ^my post was srs.i guess none of you would want to risk moving from your riveting jobs tho?edit: in fact i wonder if anyone would like to invest in a niche in the market which supplies a community service and earns a private profit while giving a few of us "partners" a really interesting environment in which to work, play and throw parties? Wouldnt have to be bris but looks like the best option considering number of clubs/interest in DJing/existing services compared to syd and melb. All I would really want is someone to register the business so we can get visas stating I would be employed, I'd come over, get the kids in school, find a roof over our heads, while also getting str8 on with finding premises for the dj school, kitting it out, promoting the service and then running the business. I'd do all the work really My experience and references plus relevant training would have the government and education services eating from the palm of my hand.Private customers would flock in and all be automatically membered to ADJF, the whole school could be branded as ADJF.Then start a club event/talent showcase also branded with ADJF.I'm prob going to do something along these lines anyway and will maintain ties to adjf out of respect, if you guys got fully on board it would just be quicker for me and more fun to have you all to bounce off. Gandy Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 try and remember which section this is in before posting non-constructive feedback, off-topic is that way -------> viewforum.php?f=1 Quote

Slippy Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 hi cupe i know this is probably obvious and just annoying to mention but the one thing that dissapoints me about the site is logging on and seeing like no new posts.... i love this forum and reading all the interesting posts but theres just not enough people!!imagine ten times the posts every day (and moderated just as good as now) would be AWESOME but i know thats not an easy thing but even being quieter than i want still the best place for a young aspiriing dj in aus!! pulsebeat Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 t-shirts, hoodies, singlets and maybe some flexi-fit baseball style hats are already on discussion... maybe hae a whole section on just mixtapes instead of browsing through the genre it is? Quote
CapFive Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 maybe hae a whole section on just mixtapes instead of browsing through the genre it is?I like this idea, maybe a subsection off each genre section to give them a mixtape section Quote

So you know everything in that forum has something to listen to. Quote
styga Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 i mean like a separate part of the company, like theres the radio side and then a dj school side, which the djs in the city that its based in can teach people at this dj school. but there could be 2 sides to the ADJF company where theres a radio station and a dj school Quote
imadje Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 ^interesting. So each location has someone who can deliver tuition, adjf advertises the service, wherever a customer comes from there there is a certified adjf tutor who can teach them.sounds do-able in the long term. Fairplay Styga. Quote
styga Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 yeah sounds like a good idea and all but would take heaps to get it done haha Quote
Cupe Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 just quietlyi want to say I think the forum has enough sections as it is without adding subsections Quote
Ellissentials Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I think there should be a "Mix Submissions" forum like over at my other forum, djforums.com Like said a few times in this thread, it would allow people to look SPECIFICALLY for the stream / downloadable mix content of the site, but you also aren't MADE to look for those mixes Via sub genre forums (I have a few new mixsets in the Electro / Breaks forum, but they don't get listens really.) Quote
Cupe Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 So you're asking for a section that just houses mixes of every genre? And what about people that produce tracks? do they just go into the genre sections in The Music?Or do we need another section for Track Submissions? Then what is 'The Music section for at all? Just chatting about stuff? Not much chat in there really it's all mixes and tracks afaics Quote
Ellissentials Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 well if you checked out djforums.com you'd see what I mean. there's a mix submissions forum, and a production forum.. yet there's still always forums to talk about genres (House / Breakbeat / DnB etc) too. so if people want to browse mix submissions from ADJF's members, they can just go to one forum. if they want to check out adjf producers, they can go to one forum. Quote
Cupe Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 Yea I did check out DJF (that forum was actually one of the main reasons ADJF was created (they never used to give Australia it's own section, it used to be included in 'everywhere else' and they seperated it not long after ADJF was made))but anyway, I prefer it go in the genre sections, that way it's easier if you wanted to find a house mix or tracks or dubstep mixes or tracks and shitThanks for the suggestion, but it has been working alright so far, and it would be a huge mission to identify and move everything so far into a new sectionWe trialed a few different ways of having the forum setup back when the site originally launched, and came to the conclusion that is now the current format Quote
ChevChelios Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Yeah we used to have dedicated mix and tune sections as well as the genre section, but it took too much attention away from the genres making them more or less redundant. Quote
