hey guys, did a bit of a mixtape to give to some clubs and pubs around here, its just a first go, I want to re-do it once I get some feedback on it, especially negative as I want to make it as good as possible. I didnt nail a couple of the mixes but oh well see what you think.

Not bad mate.

Some of your beat matching needs some fine tuning(only fine). Its was pretty good though, wasn't a train wreck thats for sure. In 1 or 2 of the transitions the phrasing was a bit out. Overall I liked it mate. Few small adjustments and you will have it nailed.

I can't really comment on the track selection, if thats the type of music being played at the clubs in your area than keep the mix the same. If not, I would go out and see whats getting played at the moment and add that to your mix. Most of the time your ability to select the right tracks and keep the dance floor happy and the bar busy out ways your ability to make a perfect mix.

The length of your mix tape is good and any longer is a waste, also try and make the first 10-15 mins really good to keep them wanting to listen to more(most of the time they will only listen to the first 10-20mins if that).

thanks hobberz, the more i listen the more i can here some of those transitions are out... probably something to do with having no speakers hooked up to my decks haha The track selection is something i am interested in hearing peoples thoughts on, I just picked some songs I like, some old some new and the last two were just remixes that I like which the clubs around hear have probably never heard before, I put them in there to try and change things up a little to show I play stuff thats a little different to what most others are playing, dont know if thats wise though?

Being different is what its all about man. I liked the tracks you have selected, but maybe you could throw in a hit here and there that you know gets the crowd pumped everytime.

I'd ditch Cool and D.A.N.C.E for something more recent tbh.

Other than that, it wasn't bad.

Wasn't bad man, like noted before, beatmatching needs some finetuning, also the amount of time you give each song is a tad long, but you're on the right track. Followed on soundcloud aswell.
