Slippy Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Hey All.i have cdj400 and just practice at home of USB... this will prob change one day but for now i have a quick question for anyone that has 400s or similar deck with same issue:the readout display of filename on usb is single line... so if you have 2 tracks that are the same song but diff remix eg:Chris Brown - Yeah 3x (Funk3d Extended Mix)Chris Brown - Yeah 3x (Club Mix by DJ Frank-E)and your scrolling throught quickly to find the track... all you will see on your readout is "Chris Brown - Yeah 3x" and it will cut off there so you will have to remember "oh yeah its the 2nd one that is the remix im after" i dont think this is practical once im out mobile and have 6+ remixes of same track, but at same time i would like to avoid tediously renaming the tracks, as i am already very accustomed to the alphabetical setup looking for artist it works well for me. does anyone have any tips? if only could shrink the text size on 400 or something to display entire filename!thanks in advance for any tips regarding this. Gandy Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 this is unfortunately a limitation of the hardware, you have to rename the file to make it shorter Quote
Slippy Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 ok cool thanks for info mate... ill look into doing that maybe just putting remixer in brackets before track name or something Quote
Skank Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 why dont yo nameityeah3x(Funk3d Extended Mix)yeah3x DJ Frank-E mixyou know who sings the song so you can cut away the artist& as gandy said it is a limit of the hardware, i had the exact same problem when i had 400's so i made sure i had a written track list in my cd case to go off and id highlight the best remix etc Quote
Slippy Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 yeah nice idea man that will work for most scenarios ! true true if i could take the time to get really organised would not be an issue ehehe... but i will try that i also noticed if you hit the text button it cycles through what seems to be the ID3 Tags so could always if have alot of remixes just make sure you edit the id3 tags to show remix aswell but still would have to load track i think before u can view the tags anyway...
