Slippy
Hi guys,I, like many people have been bedroom djing for quite some time now and would like/feel ready to move onto getting a proper setup for mobile djing for friends parties, small events etc. this could be anything from a small living area in a home, up to a large hall with 30 -60 people but with only a small area of hall to be for dancing etc.these are the ideas for speakers ive come up with, also i will add my ideas for lights below to keep it simple and give a total cost instead of a seperate light thread in light section. big thanks to everyone else who has posted on here regarding these things, i have given rep out as alot of this gear ive read from other people (soldios jaz etc )Speakersok two options here, either 2 of these : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 519wt_1139(12 inch el cheapo's but seem to be the best of the lot avail on ebay for this price range)and a 50 dollar stand from the same person, TOTAL COST ~$410OR the awesome buy from storedj 2 15 inch behringers with the stands: https://www.storedj.com.au/products/BEH-PK-B215DTOTAL COST ~$800Can anyone please give some advice as to if the extra approx 400 (double the outlay) will really be worth it in the long run?and as for the lights2 led par cans : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-LED-PAR-64 ... 034wt_1139130 buxmoonflower : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/469-LED-Moon ... 832wt_1139120 bux1000 W Strobe : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-1000W-St ... 762wt_113930 buxLED Tri light: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 831wt_1139100 buxa light truss, i have not shopped around but something like this i guess: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Light-Truss- ... 304wt_1139100 buxTOTAL COST : ~$480Total Cost to go mobile : between ~890 and ~1280 depending on choice of speakers. So please can anyone give advice if this is reasonable amount to spend, or can it be done cheaper, but also is this enough speaker + lights to get going for a good while and hopefully make enough money back to repay the investment and then save for a nice upgrade along with some 2000s ofcourse lolol ! hopefully not only can i get advice but this could help with some useful links for some other djs looking to make this step forward! SolDios
You wont need both the big moonflower and led tri light.I have the moonflower and have easily lit a mid sized hall with 80 people also, consider one of those generic lazer projectors, there like $30 and people love em.Edit, I think less is more in this case too, with ALL of those lights the whole room is going to be lit the whole time. It looks better with not as much light, gives off a better vibe.To be honest for a small hall the LED moonflower and a generic lazer projector with T Bar and perhaps a strobe will be perfectJust bring cloth to cover the glowing exit signs or it wont workthose are the only 2 lights I use and it always goes fantastic
SolDios
Also, I think its worth the investment in the bigger speakers, it will mean that you do not have to upgrade if you choose to do a bigger hall, and wont hold you down.Ellaskin did an episode on this, Il try and find it! Slippy
awesome thanks man.. so you dont use cans at all? im new to it and thought they were essential but if i could save approx 200 on lights (no par can or tri light but add a lazer projector) then would def go with the behringer not to mention i guess a T bar will be alot less than a the 100 dollar truss! SolDios
Nah I don't use any of the cans, I have 16 coloured floodlights hooked up to a chaser and ended up not using them, it looks better darker.I just havethishttp://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-RED-DJ- ... 3f0c574d83Not necessarily from this sellerand thishttp://www.ebay.com.au/itm/469-LED-Moon ... 832wt_1139I think the tri lights one might be better though, but get the little lazer light, people LOVE them! The strobe would be nice too! SolDios
^ the strobe doesn't work otherwise. Also jonas, two of those lazer projectors would be nice if your willing to spend another $30. the first one gets cancelled out abit when everyone's on the dance floor, at least if you had a second one you could point it at the ceiling for added effect. CapFive
Like crundyy said, this is a big no no sol, we cant condone this and infact are TOTALLY against doing this, not only could you get a fine if someone had proof of you doing this (up to $50,000 for opstrucing a fire exit) but this is so dangerous even if there isnt a fire, what if someone has a serious injury for other reasons and cant find the exit... big no no mate... fackedd
if your getting those cheap ebay ones or even behringer your going to need a sub.... I'm guessing they both would lack some serious bass.

Lurk6r
Allow me to be the first to post since the grand reopening of the advice railway. If posible have a listen to speakers before buying them. Ideally in a big room. And in the same situation as you will be using them, eg on stands/ground.
