Jarrah
Hey guys,I know it is bad to download great programs such as Ableton for free illegally, usually I would support the makers of the program but I don't have $800 spare at the moment. Anyway as guilty as I feel, I gave it a go, but I am trying to run the program on mac and it isn't seeming to work, I tried using a program called WineBottler to make the program run on Mac but I have been having problems with that too. I guess it serves me right Just wondering if anyone has downloaded Ableton Live Suite 8 for Free on Mac before and if so could you please help me out! Thanks!Jarrah

Jarrah
Thanks CupeFair call, I notice the price between the Ableton Live 8 and Live 8 suite is dramatic, Do I need Live 8 Suite? Walk me through it I think I am going to have to purchase this software, and sorry I don't usually download pirated stuff, it is just the $800... if it was $300 it would be a different story,ThanksJarrah

Cupe
You can probs get alot of free samples and shit for it anywayAlso, try downloading the demo versions, most of the time they're a full version for free for like 2 weeks or some shit
LabRat
im also not one that supports pirated software and such but to be totally honest, i dont think you'll really need suite. as long as you got the full issue software, you can grab samples anywhere across the web - free and paid! i dont use abelton so im not sure if the suite has samples or not but if it does i would pass on that for now and get it later on once you can affort it
imadje
^suite is good when you're used to ableton but you wont need it to get going and can always add it later. suite is extra samples and loops but also some instruments and effects which are pretty cool. Thing is there is plenty on the standard ableton for you to get to know how it works. Rem this: ableton earnt their rep for version 4/5 and the current basic 8 has more than either of them already.IMO: pay for the regular ableton, you may discover you prefer to record/source your own samples and use vst plugins anyway. imadje
If you are starting from scratch why not go for ableton intro for now, you can get used to it while you save up to upgrade to 8?

Jaz
From abletonAbleton Suite is a complete software studio. Suite 8 gives you all of the features in Live 8 plus sound, with a radically new Library packed with beautiful new sounds and a wealth of useful resources. Suite 8 contains 11 Ableton instruments and effects including synths, a sampler, electric and acoustic drums, mallets, numerous sampled instruments, the new, reworked Operator and amp modeling effects. Two completely new instruments, Collision and Latin Percussion, round off the set. Ableton Suite 8 is a complete package: the tools and the sounds.
