Mitch Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 if he hasn't copied too much (if anything) back onto the hard drive since reformating there is a good chance youll be able to get a fair bit of it back bro.If your on windows, recuva - http://www.piriform.com/recuva - is a nice simple program to recover lost files. However you said mac, so here is a couple of apps:Depending on how good you are with command line - http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/27683/testdiskA tip - if recovering from an external, don't save the files back onto that same drive. Save them to the internal or a different drive, then copy them back onto the original drive if you want Quote
Mitch Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Also forgot too add, if your looking for a mac program with a GUI, I haven't found any decent free ones yet, so youll have to fork out:Disk drill - http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/disk-dri ... 4317?mt=12$52Or you can download this one for free, see if it actually finds the stuff, but then you gotta fork out for it to actually recover the data:VirtualLab Data Recovery - http://download.cnet.com/VirtualLab-Dat ... 98807.htmlThat should help you out Quote
SolDios Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Or go to a torrent site and grab the program/pirate Quote

Lurk6r Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Only torrent things that you cant afford AND wont be making money with it AND youl purchase some day IN ORDER to make money. Quote
CapFive Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 ok, after buying those programs with no avail, i am about to give up... i think my little bro has been putting on and taking off stuff. and when i asked to use it he freaked and reformatted it.... again... this is going to cost me a bit... Quote
Mitch Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 ok yer if he's been copying shit on and off and reformatted again, that practically decreases your chances from hopeful to negligible. That sucks big time man. Was worth a try though. You can download a bit of the recent stuff of DJcity again though right? Quote

imadje Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 caps mate, been thinking about this since chat last night/avo...Cant believe that other bloke hasnt posted the info we were talking about but has anyone else heard of or used "tune up" or any other software that can alledgedly name bulk batches of songs after they've lost id3 tags following data recovery?you can still try data recovery on the failed HDD yes? I dont mean the one your bro formatted.i also agree that chasing online retailers for records or poss extra downloads is worth doing. Quote
