ATM your charging roughly $20 an hour, bit of a tip, don't charge for a total fee, just go per hour bro, if you were to bump it up $10 an hour more them that would give you $50 more per party, I don't know how good you are, so I can't tell you what to charge, mobile djing isn't about how long your been gigging, its how good you are, I taught a mate of mine how to DJ and straight out he charges $50 an hour, and they think they are getting a bargain! :) got a demo we can here?

ez mann....

do you take P.A. and lights and do the whole set up and pack down? If you do it doesnt really matter how long the gig is coz the work is in moving all the kit in and out.

and do you do any pre gig communication about playlists/music they want? The more prepared you are the better service you can supply and the more you can charge.

I'm in uk but get a min of £200 per gig if doing all the above, ($313 Oz dolla according to google). The gear I take is actually my agents and he charges £300 to the punter to cover kit hire, insurances, licenses and pre gig comms.

If the venue has P.A. and Lights I will cut my fee in half but only if they ask :teef:

Worth remembering uk livin costs in general are higher than Oz so my fee is not entirely comparable even after applying exchange rate.

i have all the eqtment but not light effects i if they hire me i usually ask them if they want lights and i tell them it'll cost extra because i have to hire.

and i do communicate alot like weeks prior to the gig ask what music genre would you like so on and so forth.

but yes u make a very good point thanks!

The company I work for charge more or less $300 for a 5 hour gig, around $500 for a wedding.

And their really, really REALLY basic.

How do you work for a company?

what do you have to do to get hired?

Trust me you don;t want to. Basically call them up and tell them you want a job. It's $20 a hour tough and equipment is shit.

But its a good way to "pay your dues" in the sense that you learn about reading the crowd and making the most with what you have.

hey gelo, i listened your mix too. like it, swift sharp fades, and mostly tight syncing. Loving that tempo jump on the last cut mate and good cross of genres.

what kit do you use?

im embarrassed to say this aha.

but i use the Numark IDJ3

and looking to upgrade to turntables.

The 'company' I'm with gives you 3 discsmans and a mixer...

Salvation army? I heard you're headlining red shield appeal

ahahaha

Close, m0by d1sc. I started with them and slowly started to get my own equipment, I'm gonna quit in about 6 months but I need more money and make some more contacts.
