SolDios Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 People keep going on about how the cdj 1000 is the best how it's industry standard? But I thought you guys said the 900 was the bench line.Even the 850 seems better than the 1000 (accept for the slower wave form processing)So whats the deal? I have seen quite a few cdj 1000's displayed in clubs around adealade :S Quote

Jaz Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 what they said ^most places will have different things, my main big club here has 2000's, 1000's, TT's, DJM900and my smaller local club (better place anyway) has 850's and djm800 Quote
SolDios Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Mmmm, again, im just thinking about the 850's. But I should have no problems transitioning to 1000's from 850's so I guess thats ok. Quote
imadje Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 yeah 1000s became industry standard over technics in the mid/late 90's. The reason isnt so much about what they do as how well they are built. Club owners just want units that wont break down. It's also coz they are so well built that many clubs havent needed to replace them with the new units such as the 2000 or 900 yet. Thats why the 1000 ares till v common in clubs. Quote
chrismak Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Is the CDJ2000 really the industry standard though? I know that's what Pioneer's marketing wants us to think. But is there any other determining factor? Quote
imadje Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 personally i dont think the 2000s are.they dont feel as well built as 1000s.I didnt even think 1000MKIII felt as well built as MKIIsAt the end of the day the definition of "industry standard" is simply " the one most people in the industry use" so until all the old 1000s in clubs breakdown it is unlikely that anything will take their position.Travelling DJs and big acts such as guetta and tiesto will be touring with the new gear coz pioneer supply them for promo purposes. Normal clubs just want something reliable that doesnt need replacing. Quote
Hobberz Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I sense someone is changing their mind again.CDJ1000's were what most clubs were using, now Pioneer claim that the 2000's are the new Industry Standard.CDJ900's replaced the 1000's.CDJ850's replaced the 800's.CDJ350's replaced the 400's.All of these players are similar so no matter which one you get you will be able to transition from higher to lower end decks and vice versa(COMMON SENSE PROVIDED), and you have been told this a number of times. You have a few years before you start playing in clubs, who knows there could be something different around by then. Focus on getting yourself some decks and learning the basics, your reading into things way to much. Quote
Hobberz Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 In most clubs you go to though, what do they have?4xCDJ2000's and a DJM2000 Quote

Only a matter of time untill they upgrade, most 1000's I have played on are pretty fucked because they have had a beating for the last 4 years or so. Quote
mattus123 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 when i bought my decks i was really concerned about getting 'club standard' cause i was planning on being the next big thing in all of syd and i was gonna be playing at all the big name clubs.its not gonna happen....ur still a while away from 18, which also means ur a while away from clubs, to even start worrying bout club standardif i was to re buy my gear, i tihnk i would have gone the cheaper option (not the CDJ100s)if i was u Sol, go with the 350s or 850s and stop worrying bout club standard. If your a good DJ, ull be able to transition to any deck in the future Quote
Skank Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 id say 9 outa 1 venues are running the cdj2000 now mainly because its free for them to upgrade as most venues will have the equipment on either a rental plan ora deal through there audio gurusif you replace the term "industry standard" with "what people prefer to use" the answer is still the same Quote
